Smiley Face in the Night Sky

We had a smiley face in the sky tonight here in Los Angeles and I didn't have my camera. = - ( I hope we have it again tomorrow night - I'll be ready then. I found these images on google, but the 2nd one is not as good as the face was here in LA tonight. So cute! = - )

Black Friday

David and his friends stayed up all night and then went Black Friday shopping at the mall. Then, after no sleep and being a bit loopy they played Xbox games in our bedroom. The rest of the Hubbard family slept peacefully and did not participate in Black Friday shopping.

Happy Thanksgiving and Birthday 2008!

Time to open presents - Jennifer enjoyed her scratch and sniff AMC gift card from David and Angelica (smelled like popcorn).

Two fun games that Jennifer received for ther 16th birthday on Turkey Day.

This is the Scattergories winning team and their winning score sheet - we are the "middle aged" team.

Time to move on to the Disney Channel Scene It game - we again had a senior citizen team with Doug added as the resident "disney channel expert." And the middle aged team with David and Angelica to help us.

Jennifer is the true expert with Matthew coming in a close second - they played for the young adult team. After most of the food had digested we were ready for the birthday cake - homemade carrot cake - yum!

Time for the first guests to leave - they all have long drives home! It was a fun thanksgiving/birthday day! = - )

Thanksgiving 16 Years Ago

This is what I was doing exactly 16 years ago today (it was Thanksgiving evening and I was in labor with Jennifer). I wasn't supposed to eat, but who in their right mind isn't going to eat thanksgiving dinner? So I ate and then 6 hours later I was in the hospital about to give birth.

Jennifer was born on November 27, 1992 at 3:18 am. There she is as a newborn and then today (with John Travolta - one of her latest celebrity encounters and pictures). Tomorrow she gets to share her special day with a turkey! Happy birthday, Jennifer - we love you! = - )

Christmas Tree Lighting in Hollywood

We went to the Christmas Tree Lighting celebration at the Grove tonight.

We had to arrive early to get a good spot - the 3 of us were right next to the stage and stayed there for 3 hours to claim our spot. The other 4 were farther back and didn't even stay for the celebration - they were tired of standing so they left before it even began!

Natalie Cole sang and dancers danced.

Varsity Fan Club performed, Jon Lovitz hosted and "Dancing with the Stars" people danced.

A Gospel choir sang and the director played the sax - awesome!

"Band from TV" was there (lots of Heroes celebs are in the band) and 2 of them were looking at someone flying through the sky...

It was Santa!

The band played, the snow (fake, of course) fell, fireworks lit up the sky and the tree was lit (you can see the top of it behind the moose and gift box in the 2nd pic).

It was so crazy crowded at the end that I forgot to take a picture of the Christmas tree - oh well...
