SNOW!

Snow, snow, snow and more snow. This is what the Hubbard home looks like and this is where we are stranded for the next few days!
This is what the neighborhood looks like around the house. It's a winter wonderland!
We made snow cream - ingredients: snow, milk, sugar and vanilla. Very tasty and there's plenty of fresh snow! = - )

Sledding Fun and MORE snow!

We spent a fun afternoon sledding at "Sledding Hill Park."
The snow was coming down fast and heavy and that made the sledding adventure that much more exciting!
We made sure to take a winter family picture with the CA, KS and CO Hubbs.

Happy 16th birthday David!

We celebrated the "sweet 16" with a birthday dinner at Macaroni Grill with the whole Hubbard family. The Kansas Hubbard's arrived just in time for the party.
The rest of the party continued later that evening with gift opening and ice cream cake. It was a fun birthday celebration for our "sweet 16" son!

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow...

When we went to pick up our Christmas Eve tamales it began to snow and that prompted our 1st official snowball fight!
One more snowball fight picture and a look at the Hubbard backyard. Matthew has spent many hours exploring this snow filled playground (and produced LOTS of wet clothes/boots).

Stuck in the SNOW!!

This morning we went to the Christmas Eve morning service at Doug's home church and Matthew found more snow to play in.
On the way home from church we got stuck in the snow! We shoveled, backed up, tried to pull forward, took pictures, laughed, worried that we never would get out, felt embarrassed and then finally David and Kathy stepped in a pile of wet muddy slush and pushed the van to freedom! It was a fun mother/son bonding moment. = -)

Traveling to Denver

We had great traveling weather the whole trip. On Friday night we arrived at our Beaver, Utah motel and found SNOW!
Matthew played in the snow and our favorite Christmas decoration was this palm tree right outside our room.
On Saturday we made it to Colorado and the real snow. Jennifer threw the first snowball!

That evening we arrived in Denver to over 2 feet of snow - it was crazy driving on the side streets that still need to be plowed. We're very thankful to be safe and sound at Grandma and Grandpa's! = - )

Denver Here We Come!

Yes, we are heading to VERY snowy Denver to celebrate Christmas with Grandpa and Grandma Hubbard! We're leaving tomorrow (Friday) morning and plan to arrive on Saturday night. The interstate should be free of snow (thanks to snow plows), but say a prayer for safe driving as we "hit" the road! = - ) This is what we have to look forward to:
This will be the kids' first white Christmas and we're all looking forward to a little sledding, snowblowing and snow shoveling!

Weekend Christmas Celebrations

The tradition continues...a Santa picture at the Child SHARE Christmas party!
A visit to The Grove in Hollywood will become a new tradition. Can you see the snow falling behind Angelica and Jennifer? It's "bubble snow."
We had fun at the Apple Store in the Grove - the photo booth feature on the computers was a family favorite. We were able to get a nice couple shot, a cute family pic and then...
we went bonkers and spent LOTS of time laughing over our distorted faces!
The next day we went to the Justis Kao Christmas concert in Long Beach. It was a fun and busy weekend!
