Volunteer Appreciation Dinner

Our church staff prepared a special dinner for the church volunteers to say, "thank you" for all the dedicated service during the year.
It was a great time of food, fun and fellowship!
Yay for volunteers!

2009 Track Season!

Track season has been a little different this year... Angelica had shin splints and missed most of the season. She was well enough towards the end and finally was able to participate. Time to warm up for the 1 mile Arcadia girls.
Off they go - 4 times around the track to equal a mile.
There she goes! I think Angelica came in 4th for this race.

Easter 2009

The main highlight of our Easter Celebration at church was the outdoor play called, "Easter Egg Haunt." Matthew and Janessa did one of the joke acts in the play.
Mr. Dave was the teacher and Jesus even came for a visit.
Angelica was one of the dance instructors along with some other girls and a teacher.
Here is the video that I recorded.
The toddlers and preschoolers sang, "This Little Light of Mine" in the 1st service.
We had our easter egg hunt between services and the eggs were all gone within about 30 seconds!
Refreshments and a family picture in front of the bamboo trees.
My class and the toddler class (with a few older siblings) sang again during the 2nd service.
After church we went to an Easter potluck with our Bible Study friends.
Friends and food - a great combination.
A group picture and worship songs to celebrate our risen Savior.
Finally, a fun game of charades!

Palm Sunday

In Sunday School we practiced cutting on our palm branches.

Lined up for a Palm Sunday parade with real palm branches (no thorns) and marched around our table.

Then we celebrated everyone who arrived at the parade. Sometimes we closed our eyes so that palm branches wouldn't get into them.

We LOVE a parade!

Then we had a Palm Sunday party and ate green peeps. Yum!

Science Fair Project

Matthew decided to find out if Mentos candy would make more than just Diet Coke explode.

He discovered that all carbonated drinks will explode!

And tasted a few along the way!

As you can see, Matthew enjoyed himself! = - )

His science project was a success and a class favorite on demonstration day. Thankfully there wasn't a demonstation at Open House, but he did take a picture with his 5th grade teacher.
