Dodger Game Fun!

Cool summer evening, great seats at the ballpark and family...priceless.
Go Dodgers!
Our family was divided... we were rooting for the Dodgers and Doug's parents were rooting for the Rockies.
Sadly, the Rockies won. = - (
At least we celebrated a great game and an early 4th of July with fireworks!
It was a great show!
Time to leave and Chuck and Arlene were still celebrating in Dodger territory - time for a family pic in front of the LA sign!
Better luck next time!

Biennial Memories

We just hosted the biennial meeting of American Baptist Churches USA in Pasadena at the Convention Center.
Doug was in charge of the youth program (and MANY other things). Our 3 teenagers enjoyed seeing old friends from the past biennials.
It is very fun to reconnect every 2 years in a different state.
Since we hosted this year I worked the meal ticket booth.
But we also had time to reconnect with friends and attend worship celebrations. Chuck and Arlene were official delegates and voted on important issues.
Matthew and his new biennial friends attended their own children's camp - Doug helped organize it too.
The special youth speaker was Nick Vujicic from Australia. He shared an awesome and inspiring testimony!
Of course we visited the exhibit hall and enjoyed the special performances.
Matthew even had some time to go ice skating (the rink is right next to the Convention Center).
The final evening of worship was at 1st Baptist Pasadena. It was another wonderful Biennial and we look forward to Puerto Rico in 2011. = - )

Camping at Sequoia National Park

Off we go on a camping adventure with Grandpa and Grandma!
Traditional first stop at Quickly to get boba milk tea.
Sleeping boys and garlic.
Lunch at Sonic and then we arrive at Sequoia!
Very curvy roads and a few sick tummies.
We arrived at night and woke up to a beautiful morning.
Two beautiful campsites right next to each other and a bear box to protect our food.
Matthew found a BIG rock to sit on and look at the clouds.
It was COLD and the campfire was WARM! Yay!
That's it in the middle - doesn't look that big in the picture, but it is!
The General Sherman Tree.
Our campground dinner plans were rained out so we went to the Lodge and enjoyed an expensive, dry, warm dinner and a few card games.
Grandpa took a nap while the rest of us played Phase 10.
Time for a hike.
God's creation is amazing!
Our waterfall destination.
More beauty!
Family picture and cute critters.
Beautiful birds along the trail.
Delicious foil dinners after the hike.
More Phase 10.
The drive back home begins.
A dinner stop in Visalia to celebrate Angelica's 18th birthday at Olive Garden.
Family pic and cake.
Presents!
Ice cream stop in Bakersfield on the way home. It was a fun trip!
