We spent Memorial Day morning at the LA Marathon cheering for the runners and Team Child SHARE.
Child SHARE is our foster care agency and it is an official charity of the LA Marathon. Our church raised money for Child SHARE by forming Team Evergreen to walk, bike and run the marathon and raise money for children.
The elite women came by our cheering section (mile 14) at 1:04.o6 (they had a head start on the elite men). The woman in red won!
The elite men came by at 1:07.41.
We had fun cheering for the runners and handing out water and fruit.
Matthew was a great water passer outer (our teenagers weren't with us because they were at our church youth retreat).
Go runners, go!
We ended our volunteer service with some yummy in-n-out burgers! = - )
We watched the winners win on tv later in the day.

The Graduation Announcements are in the Mail
Our baby boy is graduating in June and the graduation announcements are in the mail.
David is a great young man with a wonderful future ahead of him. It will be great to see where God takes him in the future. = - )
Looking back at his elementary, middle and high school years - time passed SO quickly!

Prom 2009 - Universal Studios Backlot!
This was the first year that Angelica and Jennifer went to the Prom.
David has been going to the Prom since his sophomore year.
This year they decided to go "old school" and drive themselves.
The Prom was on the Universal Studios backlot.
A very fun place to have a Prom!
Fun with friends!
Shakes at Mel's Diner!
And a fun dance floor!

In Memory of Andy
Andy was my good friend from high school youth group. We went to the same church and played in the church band together. Andy was a very talented musician.
Our church band, Psalms of Praise, even played at our church Tent Meetings.
I will miss you, Andy.
Asheville, NC – James Andrew "Andy" DeLong, loving husband, father and son, went to be with his Lord and Savior, whom he served faithfully, Wednesday, May 13, 2009.
Andy was the son of Billy Ray and Edith Morris DeLong of Asheville. He was born in Ft. Bragg, NC, and spent his childhood in Ashland, KY.
In addition to his parents, Andy is survived by his wife, Cheryl Tucker DeLong; his two sons, Joshua Andrew and Curt Nathaniel DeLong; his sisters, Cathy Gilkeson and her husband, Bob, of Asheville and Mella Trimble and her husband, Jim, of Pikeville, KY; four nieces and four nephews.
He is also survived by Cheryl's parents, William Terrell and Shirley Tucker of Chapel Hill, NC, his sister-in-law, Karen Tucker Marcus and her husband, Steve, and his good friend and business partner, Jeff Palmer.
Andy was a member of Biltmore Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and a member of the orchestra. He was a member of the Hendersonville Swing Band, the Biltmore Brass and the Walnut Cove Men's Golf Assn.
He loved Cheryl, Josh and Curt with all his heart and he was a devoted son, family man and friend to many. His exuberance for life was contagious. He was an accomplished musician and businessman. He was generous to those in need and touched many lives. He will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday at Biltmore Baptist Church conducted by the Revs. Bruce Frank and J. Michael Brown.

Happy Mother's Day
Take 1 and 2 (and a few others not shown) of the traditional "Mother with kids" picture on Sunday morning. Pictures are so much more of a hassle these days!
BJ's for a nice lunch with the family including a fun dessert to share (one for the adults and one for the kids).

Happy 7th Birthday Tigger and Toby!
Memories... our kitty cats were born May 1, 2002 and they are 7 years old now. We adopted them when they were a few months old, but met them when they were a few days old.
They were SO adorable!
Through the years...still cute and cuddly. They even took a picture with Thomas the guinea pig (rip, Thomas).
Playing with Angelica and Jennifer - they would NEVER tolerate this anymore!
Toby always tried to eat the fish.
All grown up.
