Cross Country Banquet and Celine Concert

We went to the Cross Country end-of-the-season Banquet with Angelica to celebrate a very good season for the team and Angelica.

Angelica was a part of the varsity team and lettered this year.

A little before the banquet ended we headed over to the Staples Center for a concert!

Celine! She was awesome and the concert was fun to watch from the nose bleed section (last row - up as high as the staples center goes!)

Fires and Cross Country

All that smoke is from the Anaheim fires. I took this picture from the freeway near our house and on our way to Angelica's cross country meet.
The 2nd picture shows one of the final hills they have to run at the end of their 3 mile race...and all the smoke. They did shorten the course run to 2 miles because of the smoke.

Angelica was an alternate for this race and ended up not running this time. She was still there to cheer on her team mates! Way to go, girls!

1st Place for Angelica!

Angelica came in 1st place with a time of 19.40 in her 3 mile cross country race! Here are pics from the awards ceremony - everyone gathered after the meet for the awards and the winning guys.

Angelica receiving her medal and the winning girls with their individual medals.

The Arcadia team with their first place plaque (yes, the team came home with first place, too) and Angelica with her medal. Way to go, Angelica!

Cross Country Update

Today the boys and girls cross country teams competed in Griffith Park. Thanks to Taylor for the great pics I found on Facebook!
It was a very tough course, but Angelica still did very well!

Cross Country Meet #1

The first meet of the season was just a few miles from our house sponsored by a school near our church.
All 240 11th grade girls lined up to race the 3 mile course.
There Angelica goes...
Just as she came into the finish line - her real time was 21.38 (I wasn't fast enough to get the correct time).
Angelica did great! She shaved off 2 minutes from her personal best and came in 58th out of 240. = - )
The girls received their medals right away - here is a picture of the 11th grade girls.
An Arcadia t-shirt says it all.
