Fires and Cross Country

All that smoke is from the Anaheim fires. I took this picture from the freeway near our house and on our way to Angelica's cross country meet.

The 2nd picture shows one of the final hills they have to run at the end of their 3 mile race...and all the smoke. They did shorten the course run to 2 miles because of the smoke.

Angelica was an alternate for this race and ended up not running this time. She was still there to cheer on her team mates! Way to go, girls!

Fire Update

This is what the mountains look like close to our home. We don't live in the foothills and we aren't near the fire area, but we can see the flames, smell the smoke and dust off the ashes. Matthew has asthma and needed a breathing treatment this morning. The fires should be contained within the next few days. Thankfully no homes have been damaged.
